SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, and top executives of Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, HD Hyundai and other Korean companies are expected to take part in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week as they are aim to read new trends in markets and technology while seeking to expand human networks at the world's largest tech show, according to the companies, Sunday.
This year's CES tech show will take place in Las Vegas from Jan. 5 to Jan. 8. The tech event will feature over 3,000 companies from 174 countries ranging from startups to Big Tech companies, such as Samsung, Google, Amazon and Microsoft.
Among the leaders of the conglomerates' owner families, the SK chairman will take part in the event along with the chief executives of the affiliates including SK On's Executive Vice Chairman Chey Jae-won, SK Discovery Vice Chairman Chey Chang-won, SK hynix Vice Chairman Park Jung-ho, SK Innovation Vice Chairman Kim Jun and SK Supex Chairman Cho Dae-sik.
He is expected to focus on promoting the group's carbon neutrality efforts at the show while meeting with investors and officials from companies engaged in eco-friendly energy businesses to seek cooperative opportunities.

Samsung's executive delegation will be led by Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, who heads the tech giant's DX Division. Kyung Kye-hyun, CEO of semiconductor division and Roh Tae-moon, president of mobile experience business will also join the event.
Han said Samsung will deliver its new and expanded internet of things (IoT) experiences that provide improved integration for consumer home ecosystems. He will hold a press event to deliver how Samsung's hyper-connected experiences will make users' lives easier and safer.
Other than Samsung Electronics executives, Samsung Display CEO Choi Joo-sun, Samsung SDI CEO Choi Yoon-ho and Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO Chang Duck-hyun will visit Las Vegas as well.
LG will also send a group of CEO-level executives to the CES. LG Electronics CEO Cho Joo-wan, also known as William Cho, is scheduled to appear as a speaker of LG World Premier on Jan. 4, an event which will be held a day before the opening of the CES, to deliver how LG Electronics has achieved innovations to provide customers a better life with their devices. Cho will also speak about LG's commitment to creating a sustainable future for people and the planet.
LG Display CEO Jeong Ho-young and LG Innotek CEO Jeong Cheol-don will also attend the show to seek new business opportunities and have meetings with their customers.
Chung Ki-sun, president and heir of HD Hyundai, will also take part in the CES for the second time to unveil the shipbuilding, oil refining and machinery conglomerate's vision.
HD Hyundai, formerly known as Hyundai Heavy Industries, will hold a press conference on Jan. 4 and Chung will deliver a keynote speech, introducing the group's Ocean Transformation vision. The group aims to fundamentally change its perspective on the sea and seek new business opportunities in ocean-related businesses.
