The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) invited a diplomatic delegation to Seungsan Village in South Gyeongsang Province for the Korean Entrepreneurship Exploration Program, while requesting support for Busan's bid to host World Expo 2030, according to the lobby group, Tuesday.
Seungsan Village is the birthplace of the founders of major domestic conglomerates such as GS and LG, and Jisu Elementary School, which closed in 2009 and was the school of Samsung Group founder Lee Byung-chul, LG group founder Koo In-hoi and Hyosung group founder Cho Hong-je.
"Businessmen from Seungsan Village are contributing to economic development and job creation in various parts of the world. We ask for your active support so that we can show it at the Busan Expo," Huh Chang-soo, chairman of the FKI, said.
Greek Ambassador to Korea Ekaterini Loupas attended the event along with ambassadors from eight other countries including Sierra Leone, Myanmar, Brunei, Dominica, Romania and Algeria.
There was also time to visit Hanwha Aerospace Changwon plant, a representative company in the domestic aerospace field, and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, to examine the latest status of Korea's defense industry (K-Defense).
