Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) Chairman Kim Byung-kwan, who is also the CEO of Bronte Family, importing cashmere from China, was ordained as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church General Assembly in Korea to fulfill his wish, according to the business lobby group for 8,000 importers here, Monday.
Starting last Thursday, Kim began working as a pastor, following worship at BangJu Church in Seoul.
The KOIMA chairman said in the worship that he had felt insufficient and empty, despite finding success through his business. He confessed that he rediscovered his vocation for being a pastor by praying and meditating.
"After being admitted to the Global IT Theological Academy which allows remote learning that enabled me to run a household and a business at the same time, I began to pursue my vocation for being a pastor," Kim said. "At this moment, I'm praying and preparing to make my dream to establish a 'missionary society for the way of righteousness.'"
He cited Proverbs 12:28, "In the way of righteousness there is life; along that path is immortality," to show his willingness to walk the way of righteousness. He also vowed to do his best to fulfill his duty at KOIMA, which works toward export-reliant Korea's balanced trade with other countries.
