LS Group invited ambassadors in Korea representing five Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to LS Yongsan Tower to introduce the company's electric power infrastructure and future business technologies while enhancing cooperation with their countries, according to the company, Tuesday.
The GCC is a regional organization formed in 1981 by six Arab oil-producing countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, to strengthen cooperation in economic and security issues.
The event was attended by ambassadors from five countries: UAE Ambassador Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, Oman Ambassador Zakariya Hamed Hilal Al-Saadi, Saudi Arabian Ambassador Sami M. Alsadhan and Kuwait Ambassador Deyab Farhan Al Rashidi.
On the LS side, LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-eun, LS Electric Chairman Koo Ja-gyun, LS Cable & System CEO Koo Bon-gyu and other executives attended, introducing solutions necessary for the advancement of manufacturing, power infrastructure and new and renewable energy conversion in the GCC countries, such as: smart factories, ultra-high-voltage submarine cables and photovoltaic power generation.
"LS has successfully carried out large-scale power infrastructure construction projects in the GCC countries for a long time and is recognized as a reliable group by clients in the GCC countries," LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-eun said in his welcoming speech. "We look forward to LS being a partner in future projects promoted by the GCC countries."
LS Group operates a total of four sales corporations and branches in the GCC countries centered on LS Cable, LS Electric and E1.
In addition, LS Cable won orders for a power grid construction project worth 112.5 billion won ($78.3 million) in Kuwait and a submarine cable construction project worth 100 billion won in Bahrain.
